Medical examinations

Medical examinations for women

The diagnosis of female infertility is based on a series of medical examinations conducted by our team of specialized gynaecologists. These tests help identify potential causes and guide the most appropriate treatments. BabyImpulse supports this process by providing accurate and reliable analyses, while our medical team performs and interprets all examinations.

Blood Tests
Our gynaecologists perform blood tests to evaluate hormonal activity and ovarian function. Common tests include:
  • FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone) and LH (Luteinizing Hormone): Assess ovulation and hormonal balance.
  • Estradiol and Progesterone: Indicate the body’s readiness for pregnancy.
  • AMH (Anti-Müllerian Hormone): Provides information about ovarian reserve—the number of remaining oocytes in the ovaries.
Hysterosalpingography (HSG)
This radiological examination is performed in collaboration with our radiology department to assess the uterus and fallopian tubes. It allows:
  • Visualization of intrauterine abnormalities such as fibroids, polyps, adhesions, retained placental tissue, or uterine malformations.
  • Verification of tubal openness, ensuring the fallopian tubes are not blocked—a crucial factor for conception.
Ultrasound
Transvaginal ultrasound, performed by our gynaecologists, examines the uterus and ovaries. It allows:
  • Detection of abnormalities such as fibroids or signs of endometriosis.
  • Monitoring of ovarian follicle development during ovarian stimulation to maximize conception chances.
Post-Coital Test
Under gynaecological supervision and analysed in our laboratory, this test evaluates :
  • The presence and motility of sperm in cervical mucus at ovulation
  • The quality of cervical mucus, which may affect sperm passage into the uterus.
Endometrial Biopsy
Performed by our gynaecologists, this procedure involves collecting a sample of the uterine lining to assess its thickness and quality, determining whether it is ready to receive an embryo.
Hysteroscopy and Laparoscopy
These minimally invasive procedures allow direct visualization of reproductive organs:
  • Hysteroscopy: Examines the inside of the uterus to detect abnormalities such as polyps or fibroids.
  • Laparoscopy (Coelioscopy): Visualizes the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and uterus, especially for diagnosing endometriosis or other structural issues.

Personalized Care

All tests are performed and interpreted by our specialized gynaecologists, who will provide detailed analysis and personalized recommendations. Based on the results, appropriate treatments— medical, surgical, or assisted reproductive technologies (ART) — may be proposed to improve your chances of conception.
